For over 40 years, photographer Macduff Everton has been documenting the Maya of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula. In his book, The Modern Maya, he tells the story of a people and a culture in transition. In the early 1970′s Macduff and his close friend Charles Demangate became members of Circo Magico Modelo, a traveling circus that toured the towns and villages of the region.
